Roseman Covered Bridge - Madison County - Iowa by TL Wilson Photography
The Roseman Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge in Winterset, Iowa. It is prominently featured in the novel The Bridges of Madison County, as well as its film adaptation. It was built in 1883 over the Middle River, and renovated in 1992. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
Madison County is the Covered Bridge Capital of Iowa, with the largest group of covered bridges that exists in one area in the western half of the Mississippi Valley. Six of the original nineteen covered bridges of Madison County remain, five of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

I love covered bridges! Nice capture and wonderful description. It is rare we see a covered bridge anymore but this photo brought a smile to my face and reminded me of when we went covered bridge exploring as a child. There are still several in northeastern Ohio where I grew up and we would spend a Sunday afternoon following the covered bridge trail. Thanks for the memories!
